A chat bubble without a shared catalogue layer is guesswork. AskAgento syncs your WooCommerce catalogue first, then layers search, automation, and chat on top of that grounded product data.
What is the unified shopping data layer?
Product images and descriptions live in one shared space, so text search, natural-language queries, and visual similarity all retrieve against the same catalogue data. That single representation powers search, recommendations, and the context your chatbot sees.
What languages is the plugin available in?
The AskAgento plugin interface is available in 5 languages. English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. WordPress automatically shows the one that matches your admin locale (Settings → General → Site Language), so your team sees the plugin in their own language with no extra configuration.
How do I install AskAgento and upgrade my plan?
1. Download & install. Click Download plugin on this page to get the plugin ZIP, then in WordPress open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, install and activate (WooCommerce required). You start on the Free plan automatically, with no card and every feature unlocked. 2. Need a bigger catalogue indexed? Buy Basic or Pro on this page — you download the same plugin, then attach the subscription in AskAgento → Settings → Plan. You can also subscribe from inside the admin. Checkout and billing are handled securely by Stripe.
Does my shop need to be publicly reachable?
Yes. AskAgento syncs your catalogue from our servers, so your WooCommerce shop must be publicly accessible on the internet, not behind a login wall, VPN-only access, or localhost.
Product images must use publicly accessible URLs as well. We fetch each image during sync; password-protected media, private buckets, or hotlink-blocked files will not index correctly.
What happens after I click Activate?

How long does the first installation take?

Typical throughput is about 1.2 products/s — roughly 4 minutes for 200 products and 8 minutes for 400. Larger catalogues often sync a bit faster, around 1.6 products/s.
Will AskAgento slow down my shop or hurt PageSpeed?
No. Heavy work such as catalogue indexing, semantic search, chat, and auto-labelling runs on AskAgento’s hosted infrastructure, not inside your WordPress request cycle.
The plugin exports your product catalogue on a schedule (daily or monthly by plan) via a background sync. It does not re-index or call an LLM on every product or checkout page.
We don’t store AI vectors in wp_postmeta or blow up wp_options. Local tables are limited to fast product filters (precomputed cache), separate from the cloud catalogue brain. AskAgento is compatible with WooCommerce HPOS.
How fast is catalogue search?
One search request typically takes about 0.5 seconds.

The plugin is fully compatible with WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS). Features such as sync, search, filters, chat, and recommendations operate directly on the product catalogue and do not rely on legacy order tables.
Is there a free trial?
There is no trial, because nothing is locked. The Free plan is permanently free, needs no card, and runs every AskAgento feature for catalogues up to 100 products. Move to Basic or Pro when you need a larger catalogue indexed or higher monthly AI allowances.
What counts as one AI search?
One shopper text or image query processed by AskAgento catalogue search.
Can I buy extra searches or LLM capacity?
Yes, on Basic and Pro. Buy add-on packs — a 30,000-search pack for $3 or a hosted LLM pack for $3 (~150 products labelled or ~600 chatbot messages) — directly in the plugin: Settings → Plan. Stack packs as needed.
Can I use my own OpenAI or OpenRouter API key?
Yes, free on every plan, with no add-on purchase required. In WordPress go to AskAgento → Settings → LLM Setup and add your key. Chatbot, labelling, and filters can run on your provider instead of (or in addition to) included hosted allowances. You pay your provider directly; AskAgento does not mark up those tokens.
What catalogue data does AskAgento process?
We process WooCommerce product catalogue data (titles, descriptions, images, and related metadata) to power search, labelling, and chat. We do not need your shoppers’ personal order histories for core features.
